BISS Am/Can CH, BILLY, CGC
May 8, 1998 - February 6, 2005
"God saw you were getting tired
And a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you,
And whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer
and fade away
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
Your loving heart stopped beating,
Hard working paws to rest.
God broke our hearts to
prove to us,
He only takes the best."

Billy, there is only one; my heart dog! Billy moved west with his surf board, his sun glasses and an attitude! Billy took us to a level we never even contemplated achieving. Billy slept on my bed, rode in my car with his brother Ernie and showed his heart out! He loved to show; he loved to travel and loved life!
We made many new friends, saw parts of the country that we never thought we would see and drove a lot of miles.......Billy spent many hours listening to me and definitely acted as my psychiatrist. He never had a bad day and definitely understood when I had one. I could never have had a more understanding friend. Billy would curl up with me at night until I fell asleep and then would crawl off the bed to sleep in a cooler spot; when the alarm went off in the morning, there he was - face to face.
Billy's show career was a memorable one; with many significant achievements! He started his showing, without any training, with our friend Ruben Gaeta by winning Best Jr. Puppy in Sweepstakes at the National Specialty in Tucson, Arizona. Billy finished his championship from the 9 - 12 month Puppy Class under Judges Jane Kay, Norm Herbel, Christina Hubbell, Joe Tacker (with a Group 1), and William Shelton (with a Group 3).
He was #1 All Systems Dog 2001 and 2002, (Pedigree Award Winner 2001, 2002); BISS November 2002 [Grand Canyon State Bernese Mountain Dog Club]. He concluded his show career by winning the breed at prestigious 2003 Westminster Kennel Club show in New York.
None of this would have been possible without the great support and assistance by many folks, but our wonderful ride was thanks to Bill and Taffe McFadden and their assistants.....they made this happen!!
Bill won Stud Dog Class at the 2003 National Specialty in Long Beach (thank you Susan Henderson)! Billy is now a Top Producer; Billy was used at stud in a limited capacity and our heartfelt thanks to the Breeders who saw what Billy had to offer:
BISS Am/Can Ch. Four Paws Wraped Up in A Bow (Bow) (2007 National Specialty AOM)

"Oh where have you been Billy Boy, Billy Boy? Oh where have you been charming Billy?" Billy lives within his gorgeous offspring......some champions, all in homes with wonderful families. FiveStar's Just Jack is our newest family member and is a Billy grandson. Jack has big shoes to fill!
I still have a hard time believing that Billy will not be back in my life........he is missed and thought of every day. We were so fortunate to have him with us; life is never long enough but his life was far too short! Billy survived the systemic histiocytic disease but the side effect of the chemo caused his demise. Would I do it again, in a heart beat!
Gone but never forgotten.........your legacy lives on.........in my dreams, my hopes and prayers and your grandson Jack that is living with us.
